Applying to uni

UAC application

Current school leavers apply to most universities in NSW and the ACT through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).

Find out more about the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) process from their website:
http://www.uac.edu.au/undergraduate/ (opens an external site)

Course preferences

In one UAC application you can make nine course choices, known as preferences.

Find out more about how UAC preferences work.

Additional selection criteria

As well as filling out the UAC application, applicants may need to go through additional processes to apply for some courses they have chosen. For example, they may need to submit a portfolio of artwork, attend an interview or audition, or fill out a university questionnaire.

HSC results

The HSC results, and your son or daughter’s ATAR, are released in mid-December.

You're son or daughter should review there preferences after they get their HSC results.

Uni offers

Most offers are made in the main round in mid-January; late round offers are made at the beginning of February; and final round offers are made a week later.
