Indigenous students applying for undergraduate study
UTS: Jumbunna Indigenous House of Learning (Jumbunna IHL) provides services & pathways for all students who identify as Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
In NSW the definition of an Aboriginal [or Torres Strait Islander] person, as defined by the Aboriginal Land Rights Act, is a person who:
- is of Aboriginal [or Torres Strait Islander] descent.
- identifies as an Aboriginal [or Torres Strait Islander] person, and
- is accepted by the Aboriginal [or Torres Strait Islander] community in which he/she lives.
Jumbunna IHL provides services and facilities including:
- 24 hour computer and printing facilities
- 24 hour kitchen facilities
- Access to cultural and academic support
- Tutoring through the Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme (ITAS)
- Group-work and tutoring spaces.
The Yana Muru Pathway Program is available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students applying for entry to most undergraduate courses at UTS.
