Using UAC's upload facility

Optional personal statements and portfolios should be submitted using UAC's upload facility after you have applied for a course.

For information about uploading an optional personal statement or portfolio visit the UAC website:
Uploading your documents FAQs (opens an external site).

Personal statements and portfolios need to be submitted as PDF documents (max 3MB).
Additional supporting documents can be scanned and included with the personal statement submission.

PDF converter

UAC have a pdf converter for applicants who need to use one.

Upload restrictions

UAC's upload facility will restrict how many personal statements or portfolios you can upload and to which course areas.

If you apply for a single degree and that same degree with a BA International studies, (for example a B Design Animation and a B Design Animation B Arts in International Studies), you can upload one portfolio or one personal statement which will cover both preferences.

  • Design - submit individual portfolios for each design area
  • Business- (for Events and Leisure and Management in Tourism courses) - submit individual personal statements for each preference
  • Nursing, Midwifery and Health - submit one personal statement for all Nursing preferences, one personal statement with a CV attached for all Midwifery preferences, and submit individual personal statements for Human Movement and Sport and Exercise preferences
  • Science - submit one personal statement to cover preferences to Science Flexible courses (607001, 609170, 609250), one personal statement to cover preferences to Physics and Nanothechnology (607007, 607009), one personal statement to cover Biotechnology preferences (607045, 609176, 609257), and individual personal statements to all other Science preferences (except when combined with a BA International Studies which does not require a separate submission).
