In the big city
Sydney is the largest city in Australia with a population of approximately four and a half million people.
As a UTS student, the whole of Sydney is just a short walk or bus ride away... Sydney has a great public transport system and the main City campus is just 10 minutes walk from Central railway and bus interchange.
Sydney is a cosmopolitan city that offers an exciting selection of entertainment, shopping and sightseeing. Once you've finished lectures at City campus you can:
Wander across to the Market City (opens an external site).
Walk over to Darling Harbour for festivals, cultural activities and the green, leafy peace of the Chinese Gardens.
Catch a bus down to Circular Quay for the beautiful sights of Sydney Harbour.
Head into town or to Broadway Shopping Centre for a movie with your friends - then stay out late in Sydney's hottest bars and pubs.
Get some sun and a swim at Victoria Park, on Broadway.
On the weekends, there's beautiful beaches and bushland to explore not far from the city.
There's always something happening in Newtown or Glebe - suburbs not far from City campus. People come from all over Sydney to eat out and people-watch in Newtown. Or visit Glebe's cafes, restaurants and bookshops, and the bohemian flea market every Saturday.
