Your Australian tertiary admission rank (ATAR)

When you go to uni straight from school, getting into most UTS undergraduate courses will be based entirely on your Australian tertiary admission rank (ATAR).

Worried you wont get the ATAR you need

If your ATAR is lower than you need to get into the course you're interested in, don't give up. There are other options:

  • Entry pathways

A different way to get to uni.

Access schemes for current school leavers - if your education has been disadvantaged and this has affected your grades, access schemes may help you gain access to courses.

If you don't go straight to uni after school, there are entry pathways that take into account experience and other study.

  • Bonus points

Bonus points are awarded to current school leavers based on their performance in some HSC subjects that are relevant to the UTS course they have applied for.

  • Other study

If you don't go straight to uni after school, you can attend another academic institution and use this study to boost your uni application.
