Year 10

Decide on your HSC subjects – do what you're good at and what you enjoy so you get the best ATAR.
Think about what you really like doing – and what you definitely don't want to do.
Make a list of possible careers and research them
Start researching about uni, TAFE and work.
Do some work experience in areas that interest you.

Visit uni open days.
Talk to your careers adviser.
Talk to other people who can help you decide what to study and which universities might be best for you.
Keep a notebook for ideas from conversations, your uni visits and what you find on the web.
Make a ‘first draft' list of your preferences for courses and unis.
Find out the ATAR you need and work towards achieving that (remember that the final ATAR cut-off for any course you look at will only be a guide – they change each year).
