Is uni like school? Not really!

At uni you'll be totally responsible for getting yourself to class, managing your study time, doing your assignments and getting them in by the deadline.
But there's always help available if you struggle with any subject or with things like health and money.
Uni is a lot bigger than school, with huge lecture halls, hundreds of classrooms, and places to socialise like bars and cafés. You'll get to study and socialise with lots of different people from different places, countries and cultures, and make friends with people who aren't even in the same classes as you. The friends you make at uni are often friends for life.
You won't be in class all day – or even all week. There are two semesters with three months off at the end of each year.
You get the chance to say what you think, use your own ideas and skills and discuss things with other people in the class and your lecturer.
Best of all, you can chose what extra-curricular activities you get involved in – from social clubs and societies to competitive sports and student politics.
